£900.00

This quilt was made by the Gadhvi community in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat, India. 1960’s.

Traditionally crafted for folk singers to sit upon during performances. Quilts of this size are much more rare as this type of quilt was more often made to be much smaller.

The central panel, either red or off-white, is richly decorated with appliqued pieces of chintz and vintage "Manchester print" fabric. The back featuring a beautifully abstract red and white panel. Marks and stains due to age.
