Noren are Japanese fabric dividers that were often used to divide areas such as the kitchen and dining room and for decoration around the home. The were also used for protection from wind, dust and used as shade in hot weather when placed over doors. Thin panels offhand woven indigo cotton with repairs and patches of Japanese textiles and boro techniques to give longevity to the piece. Made up of 8 panels, stretched together. Would look beautiful as a sheer curtain or room divider.
