This is a part of a old ramie or hemp mosquito net. Mosquito nets called Kaya are insect-repellent nets that were used all over Japan since ancient times. This dark green color is dyed by mixing turmeric, indigo, persimmon tannin, etc. Several places have been repaired by beautiful Sashiko stitching with some other ramie fabrics and hemp threads. Some holes due to age.
